Rainforest - New Zealand 4K

A short film showing New Zealand's beautiful subtropical coastal rainforest. Walk under towering Nikau palm out to the beach to catch a west coast sunset. This is truly a special place and shows how NZ looked before humans arrived.

Located on the west coast of the South Island in Paparoa National Park and the small settlement of Punakaiki. Not only is the surrounding jungle spectacular but there is also some unique geology to be found including the famous pancake rocks and many other interesting rock formations much of them limestone. The Nikau palm is New Zealand native with a life span of about 200 years. Some can take up to 40 years to begin to form a trunk. This should give you an idea of how ancient this forest is.
