Single Dad by Adoption - Meeting My Son for the First Time #NationalAdoptionMonth

This is the story of the first time that I met my son. He was in foster care, and I was taking the first huge step to being his forever home. He was 6 at the time and about to turn 7. I was nervous and excited. As I got to his foster family’s home, I saw him at the front door waiting patiently for me. We had an amazing day just playing around. As I drove home, I had to take the time to check if I was ready for this. And while I was a bit nervous, I wasn’t afraid. It felt right. Looking back, I am so overjoyed with the decision I made. I cannot even think what my life would be like without having him in it. We make an amazing team and our bond gets stronger everyday.

I started this channel for anyone who is interested in foster care and adoption. My videos are strictly just my experiences. I am not a professional social worker or parenting expert. I’m just a regular guy who wanted to be a dad.
