The Surprising Rescue of a 3-Legged Backyard Lemur | Monkey Life Season 18 Episode 8

When a private collector realizes he can no longer care for his backyard troop of 11 ring-tailed lemurs, sanctuary experts must step in to execute a massive, multi-stage relocation.

The rescue team travels to a UK backyard to coax the unpredictable males into transport boxes using grapes and raisins. The stakes are high, as catching highly agile, stressed primates in a domestic setting can quickly lead to chaos.

After a tense four-hour drive to the sanctuary hospital, the lemurs are put under anesthesia for a full assessment. Discover the incredible resilience of Ben, the troop's dominant father, as the vet examines the healed stump of his missing leg—a severe amputation he survived as a youngster.

Monkey Life follows the work of Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre with nail-biting rescue and rehabilitation stories. Whilst there are primates in need, Dr. Alison Cronin, Jeremy Keeling and their dedicated team continue to fight the illegal trade in primates and give those rescued a safe haven for the rest of their lives.
