The Religious Subtext Of Twisted Metal: Black

Many many moons ago, I examined what I thought was the most interesting aspect of Twisted Metal black, that being the hidden twist of the game. That of course being the fact that the game all takes place within the mind of Sweet tooth, AKA needles cane, AKA Marcus cane. Now I have examined this story from several different angles, I've examined it from the angle of Freudian psychoanalitics. Of characters representing different aspects of the personality, of the strange differences between the official release and the beta cut-scenes and what that may have meant to the overall product. And I've even made an Earnest attempt to examine the game entirely straight without any of the subtext whatsoever. With that said, way back in July of 2024 when I was playing the game to review it for my 100,000 subscriber special, there is one thing that kind of stuck out to me that I knew I wanted to say for its own video. And that is the weird religious subtext within the game. So I wanted to take a minute to really examine the religious subtext and imagery and what it all means.
