🔍 Definition:---------------------
Measures uric acid levels in blood or urine to diagnose gout, kidney disorders, or monitor chemotherapy side effects.

🧪 Specimen:----------------------
Type: Blood (Serum) or 24-hour Urine
Collection Tube: Gold-top (SST) or Red-top (Blood)
Urine: Sterile container (24-hour collection)

🎯 Test Purpose:-------------------------
Diagnose gout or kidney stones
Monitor tumor lysis syndrome (cancer treatment)
Check for high uric acid (hyperuricemia)

📊 Normal Values:----------------------
Blood (Serum):
Men: 3.4–7.0 mg/dL
Women: 2.4–6.0 mg/dL
Urine (24-hr): 250–750 mg/day

📌 Results Meaning:-----------------------
High Uric Acid (Hyperuricemia):
Gout (joint pain & swelling)
Kidney stones or kidney disease
Leukemia/lymphoma (rapid cell breakdown)
Low Uric Acid: Rare, may indicate liver/kidney issues

⚠️ Note:
Avoid alcohol & purine-rich foods (meat, seafood) before the test
Some medications (diuretics, aspirin) can affect results
