Millions of people do this walk every year in Baghdad. It is incredibly impressive ! It is so well organized, with everything provided for free to all those joining in the walk. Free water, food, tea, toilets, rest stops, medical care, everything ! People from all ages come together and create such a lively atmosphere ! Even though it is about remembering the death of someone important, Imam Musa Al-Kadhim, it's something that is done positively, not in grief.

I feel very lucky to have been able to see it myself, and to walk at least a bit of it ! Thanks to Emma who brought it to my attention. I rushed back to Baghdad just for this 🙂
