10. The Calixtlahuaca Head
Discovered by archaeologist José García Payón in 1933, the Calixtlahuaca head is a terracotta head featuring alleged Roman features that was found oddly out-of-place in Mexico’s Toluca Valley.

9. Prehistoric Storytelling
The late 2019 discovery of a cave painting on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi is thought to be the oldest known example of one of the most important things that makes us human, a recorded story.

8. Ancient Expert Beekeepers
We all know that bees are extremely important to our ecosystem and even survival, and so did ancient people. A 2017 study revealed the discovery of ancient honeycombs at the Forcello archaeological site in northern Italy, citing them as evidence of ancient beekeepers once inhabiting the region.

An amateur artifact hunter was out strolling on the banks of a stream in Georgia in the United States when he supposedly found a partially exposed ancient Chinese sword.

2. The Great Library Of Alexandria
The burning of the Great Library at Alexandria in northern Egypt is one of history’s best-known travesties. Founded in 283 B.C., it was once the ancient world’s largest library, housing over 100 full-time scholars and containing texts by renowned thinkers and writers such as Homer, Plato, and Socrates.
