The Battle of Taierzhuang taken place between in China’s Shandong province was the Republic of China’s first victory against the Imperial Japanese Army since the beginning of Second Sino-Japanese War. During this battle, the Central Army, Guangxi Army, Northwest Army and Sichuan Army fought as one National Revolutionary Army under Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek to achieve the victory.
It was not a victory to prevent the Japanese from occupying any Chinese major cities, but to buy times for the Central Government to move ROC’s wartime capital from Wuhan to Chongqing.
