Saturated and Unsaturated Carbon Compounds

Saturated and unsaturated carbon compounds are two kinds of compounds which are differentiated based on the number of bonds between the atoms. Saturated compounds are those chemical compounds which have single bonds i.e. there are single bonds between two carbon atoms. On the other hand, unsaturated compounds are those which have double or triple bonds between two carbon atoms.

Saturated carbon compounds are less reactive and thus, more stable than the unsaturated compounds. An example of saturated carbon compound is Ethane. On the contrary, unsturated compounds are more reactive and an example of it is Ethene.
