Chopin - Prelude in E Minor (Left Brain Vs. Right Brain)

Chopin's Prelude in E Minor (Op 28 no 4) played with the left brain vs. the right brain. This is a study on how the 2 hemispheres of the brain can perform a single piece in different ways. I tried my best to maintain similar tempo, timing, articulation, dynamics, etc between both performances... The main goal is to show how each brain reveals their personality through music. (This video is a primarily academic study to illuminate for my students the difference in performance that is not possible to express through words)

The right hemisphere and the left hemisphere both express emotions in different ways. The left hemisphere expresses emotions in terms of the "abstract," aka it tries to create a virtual representation of the emotion. Meanwhile, the right hemisphere "presents" the emotion in its full, living embodied form.

(For those of you who are wondering how I can choose which brain I'm using, the answer is quite complicated and not easily explained via text. First you must understand exactly how the 2 hemispheres of your brain works. This 1-hour long lecture delivered to the Royal College of Psychiatry, is a good starting point: https://bit.ly/BrainLateralizationEvolution)
