"The underlying concept of the song Deconstructing The Ego is the profound insight into the fundamental nature of self and the deep understanding of, not just intellectually (in thought) but experientially (in the totality of ones experience) that ego is not a substantial entity consisting of immutable and permanent characteristics but rather is the contingent product of arbitrary active and interactive processes—namely, the awareness or consciousness of physical-thing perception, bodily sensation, emotion, mental talk, mental images, etc.—that, when made inactive, and thus non-interactive, such as through the spiritual practice of deep meditation, reveal the self as the nebulous and ephemeral figment that it truly is."-GT
