Short Documentary - Geese Damage Controle in Holland with Eduard
In this video portrait I'm following Dutch professional hunter Eduard Van Adrichem during a morning hunt on the geese. Eduard shares his hunting experience but also speaks out against the over regulating of hunting in the Netherlands.
I've already posted this short doc as part of Vlog 13 but some people requested to upload it separately. As a photographer who has been working for four years on a documentary project on hunting I discovered Edward while he was on a Dutch TV-show. He may not be always politically correct but at least he is not afraid to share his opinions and ethical considerations.
During my project I overcame my initial adversity for hunting completely, I even started hunting myself. I strongly believe that the hunting community in general is at least partly to blame for it's bad reputation. Simply because most hunters don't speak up. Therefor I want to give people like Eduard a platform. And when I was looking for a subject to experiment with video story telling, I didn't hesitate to embark on this project with him.
Everyone is entitled to his own opinions and I respect anti hunting sentiments. But I'd really appreciate it if you watch this documentary with an open mind.
This video was entirely shot in 4K with a Fujifilm X-T2. The majority of the footage was shot with the Fujinon 16-55 lens and a couple of shots with the 50-140. Sound was recorded with a hotshoe mounted Rode Videomic Pro (with a deadcat to prevent wind noise). A Tiffen Variable ND filter and a Vanguard video monopod completed the gear package.
