Lava Falls Rapid - 38 foot drop! - Grand Canyon - Wilderness River Adventures (Slow Motion)

Lava Falls is the fastest navigable river water in the northern hemisphere. There is a 38 foot drop and it all takes place in seconds, so I slowed down the action by shooting in 60 fps. THIS VERSION IS AT QUARTER SPEED. See my channel for another one at HALF SPEED.

This video was taken using an Astak ActionPro camera mounted on an iPole from FastCap. I will be posting a second POV angle taken using a Contour ROAM 2 mounted on an iPole Mini.

This is just one of many clips that will follow taken while in the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River.

Butch, our fearless Boatman and his Swamper Chongo can be seen in the background making sure all of us are safe, but trust me... it's one of the most difficult rapids in the world to navigate. They just make it look easy.
