⚽️ Can a Baby Elephant PLAY FOOTBALL from Birth?

🐘 Can a baby elephant play football from birth? That might seem like a silly question. But now that Cute Critter Channel has covered the “Can Baby Elephants Walk from Birth” topic, we’ve decided to find out what else these cute elephant babies can do...

Yes, baby elephants can *in fact* trod around by themselves within the first few minutes of life (and then immediately need to take a nap. lol). However, playing soccer seems to be a whole new activity that baby Ellies need to be taught to learn.

So, to be clear, within the first few moments of life, baby elephants DO have a hard time standing up. But, with enough encouragement from mom and auntie elephants (who are usually standing around the pregnant mother as she delivers her newborn), the elephant calf is usually able to walk very soon after being delivered. However, it will be at least a few weeks to about a few months before we can see the same baby elephant play football.

At birth, cute baby elephants are covered in an amniotic layer of flesh (seen at the beginning of this video) immediately after the calf falls out of its’ mother's womb. All the female elephants work collectively to remove this afterbirth layer off the elephant baby. The mother has even been known to eat the amniotic tissue (in the wild) to prevent the scent from being picked up by predators.

But can a baby elephant PLAY FOOTBALL from birth? As we’ll see in this video, just watch what happens when a soccer ball is immediately placed in front of a young Ellie... let’s watch and see what happens next!
