Trigeminal Neuralgia | The Pain | The Solution

Trigeminal Neuralgia is a headache condition due to a dysfunction to the trigeminal nerve. Sufferers will experience electric-shock-like pain, piercing, stabbing, shooting and sharp pain along one side of the head and face region.

Depending on which branch of the trigeminal nerve is affected, will determine which area of the head and face a sufferer will feel pain.

Attacks can last anywhere from a fraction of a second or up to 2 minutes or longer. Attacks can occur from 1 to 50 attacks per day.

The trigeminal nerve have 3 branches which included:
-Opthalamic Branch
-Maxillary Branch
-Mandibular Branch

Opthalamic Branch:
Those with the opthalamic branch being affected will often experience pain around the eyes, nose and forehead

Maxillary Branch:
Those with the maxillary branch being affected will often experienve pain at the front of the temple, cheek region and upper lip

Mandibular Branch:
Those with the mandibular branch being affected will experience pain around the temple and jaw region.

Trigeminal Neuralgia sufferers will often be extremely hypersensitive and reports that any light touch of the face, or brushing of the teeth, chewing and even speaking can be quite painful and can trigger attacks.
