#10 - Interstellar - Cooper is the Ghost

Interstellar explained — specifically the one Nolan hopes you won't think about too hard: Cooper is the ghost. And it breaks everything.

The tesseract was built by future humans to save humanity. But humanity only survives because Cooper sends the data through it. Which means the tesseract exists because of data that only exists because of the tesseract. It creates itself. It has no origin point. This is a bootstrap paradox with no cause — and Interstellar's entire third act rests on it. We break down exactly why the logic collapses, what Nolan borrowed from theoretical physics, and whether this is a flaw or a deliberate feature of the film's design.

Film: Interstellar (2014), dir. Christopher Nolan.
