'Holy Ghost' - The Bar-Kays - Sammy Lee Drumz

'Holy Ghost' by The Bar-Kays
Drum cover performed and produced by Sammy Lee Drumz during Lockdown 2020

Released: October 1978
Recorded: 1972-1975 at Stax Studios, Memphis, Tennessee
Label: Stax Records
Producer: Allen Jones

The line-up for the Bar-Kays when they released "Holy Ghost" was:
Larry Dodson (lead vocals), Lloyd Smith (Guitar), James Alexander (bass, vocals), Michael Beard (drums), Charles Allen (trumpet, vocals), Harvey Henderson (tenor sax), Winston Stewart (keyboards), and Frank Thompson (trombone).

Probably the funkinest track ever. The break is a fist-pumping, baby-making, earth-shattering groove to delight any lover of 70's funk and soul. Badass to tha bone baby, both gritty, energised and unambiguously ahead of its time. Sampled by a thousand DJ's and soundtracked in countless movies, this is a CHOOON made to take your clothes off to.

This particular drum video is inspired by, and in celebration of reaching my third year of sobriety... for today I am three whole lucid years clean and sober... god gawd y'all!

Did somebody say get the funk out... okay!
