As winter approaches many people are starting to "Winterize" their little
trailers.
This video is a quick tutorial specific to the TAB type trailers on an often
neglected aspect of tire storage.
When a trailer tire is going to be stored for several months, it should be jacked up off the ground. This prevents two main problems.
One, that the unmoving weight of the trailer will cause the tire to
take a "set". A flat spot where it was sitting on the ground for so long.
Two, that important oils and chemicals will leach out of the rubber into the surface that it is sitting on, or in some cases, chemicals from the surface
can leach into the tire rubber itself.
Both situations can cause trouble next season.
