Ostia Antica Chapter 8: Death and Burial - Ancient Rome Live

In antiquity death and memory were very prominent features of daily life. This segment explores the various types of burial and funerary monuments known at Ostia Antica, as well as some of the social and ritual aspects of death and commemoration in the Roman world. Each video is a co-production between the AIRC and Northeastern University (Prof. Brian Thomson). Filming was done in May 2011. The NEU film students who made the individual videos are cited at the end of each segment; the Institute thanks them for all of their hard work in an engaging, outdoor environment.
