When you’re a genius playboy philanthropist billionaire who just so happens to spend his spare time flying around in a metal powers suit solving the woes of the world, some of which you are responsible for, you’re gonna wanna kit up. You don’t get to be a genius playboy billionaire philanthropist by thinking good enough is good enough. Especially if those billions of dollars came from you from your work in the tech and defense world. Tony may not be your average tech mogul but he is all about that extra. And as Vision pointed out, the presence of such a power will eventually attract more power, so you’re going to need to keep stepping up your game. The big tin suit with flame throwers was great for escaping a cave, but when Thanos comes to town you’re going to want that bleeding edge technology. Whether that takes the form of various beams or the all encompassing favorite of modern sci fi writers, nanotechnology. Ah, nano-tech, is there no problem you can’t solve? From bigger and bigger blasts to more and more exotic building material, the MCU’s tech and venture capital go to guy has managed to up his game every time he’s faced with a new challenge.
