working on Proxxon PD230 micro lathe

This is a short video about me working on my new PD 230 lathe.

I made a small piece for my big project: the "nagyizee's timelapse camera mount". The piece is a tripod screw hub with which the camera mount can be put on a photo tripod.
Since I have no much experience on lathe working I went really easy on the little machine, that's why I accelerated the video to 4x in many places.

The piece came out with good tolerances: 0.01mm axial and 0.04mm longitudinal which is good for a beginner.

As a short review:
I really like the precision of the stock 3 jaw chuck, you can reclamp the piece without producing to much concentric error.
The machine is very precise, but it needs a little attention after purchasing, I spent couple of hours adjusting stuff on it, but after it I succeeded to make some 2mm diameter pieces with 0.4mm axes from aluminium.
Many people complain about it being underpowered. I consider that for it's size and for it's purpose it has enough power. It is a sort of "watch making" lathe, not a heavy duty machine.
