Sebastian Vettel - Monza 2011 Parabolica - Blown diffuser sound

The sound you hear when they lift the throttle is the sound of the exhaust overrun. The engine is still blowing gases through the exhaust even when no throttle is applied. This was done to maximise the airflow through the diffuser. Aptly named "blown diffuser". This is now banned from 2012 and on.
