Can AI Stop Deepfake Fraud? This Student Thinks So

As deepfake technology becomes more sophisticated, how can we tell whether the person behind a screen is actually real?

Jaejun Park from Korea University presents Teramime, an AI security company developing next-generation protection for facial authentication systems.

While face recognition is rapidly becoming the standard for digital security, it is increasingly vulnerable to deepfakes, replay attacks, and synthetic identities generated by AI. Teramime addresses this growing challenge with a powerful liveness detection technology that analyzes subtle lip movements and lower-face motion patterns that are extremely difficult to fake or replicate.

This pitch was presented at the 2026 GSEA APAC / North Asia / Japan Regional Competition, part of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), the world's premier competition for student entrepreneurs.
