THE UNTOLD STORY OF RAREGROOVE – Mica Paris getting funky on the tambourine @ House of St Barnabas

Raw exclusive unedited footage from cutting room, from the documentary that explores the untold story of raregroove as told by the people who were there and the dancers who were at the epicentre of the scene in the 1980s. Patrick Forge and Giles Peterson spear headed the Jazz club scene in the late 1980s, a scene that evolved side by side with the raregroove scene. The two scenes were symbiotic as the dancers from the Jazz scene would also frequent the raregroove clubs where the music was biased more to the funk side. The hard core of London wide Jazz dancers played a major part in the evolution of the raregroove scene as they bounced between the scenes bringing energy, grace and poetic expression to the dance floor of the funk clubs. Fast forward 30 years and Patrick Forge is still keeping London dance floors rocking with his eclectic blend of latin, disco-boogie, jazz-funk and club classics.
