Homemade KFC Gravy| KFC Style Gravy Recipe | 11 Herbs and Spices Gravy | Colonel Sanders Gravy

In this recipe, I will show you how to make homemade KFC gravy. Many people believe they know how to make the Colonel’s top-secret brown sauce. Most recipes I have come across make a simple brown sauce and add onion powder or sage or black pepper. These recipes may be simple and easy to make but they just don’t taste like the Colonel’s top-secret recipe. Kentucky fried chicken recipe is widely believed to be made from crackling. Crackling is the residue collected from the bottom of the chicken fryers each week. This residue in large part would seem to get its flavors from the 11 herbs and spices used to flavor the chicken. If the Kentucky fried chicken crackling is the flavor base for the sauce, wouldn’t you want to use the same 11 herbs and spices in a Kentucky fried chicken style gravy recipe? My homemade KFC gravy recipe contains the 11 herbs and spices suspected to be used in the Colonel Sanders top-secret recipe. This homemade KFC recipe also uses veal and chicken stock.

Ingredients for spice mixture:
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion salt
- 1 tsp dried coriander
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
Ingredients for the gravy:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 237 ml or 1 cup chicken stock
- 355ml or 1.5 cups brown veal stock
- 1 tbsp of the spice mixture
- 1 tbsp of the secret ingredient shown in the video
