📙TOPIC 20: CIRCULAR MOTION
📙SubTopic 20.1: Centripetal Force.
a) Identifying daily life situations where motion in a circle exists.
b) Explaining the meaning of the terms; angular velocity, angular
acceleration and centripetal force.
c) Derive expressions for angular velocity, angular acceleration and
centripetal force, and use them in solving related numerical
problems.
📙SubTopic 20.2: Conical Pendulum.
a) Effect of gravity on the motion of bodies in a circular path.
b) Expressions for the conical pendulum and apply them in solving
numerical problems.
📙SubTopic 20.3: Motion in Circular Tracks. (Non-skidding on banked and
horizontal roads.)
a) Identify daily life situations where motion on banked roads exists.
b) Explain the meaning of angle of banking and derive expressions
relating the angle of banking, velocity and acceleration of bodies
moving in a circular path and apply these expressions in solving
numerical problems.
NOTE: Motion in a vertical circle should NOT be included.
