The Arkansas ghost town of Monte Ne has one of the most fascinating histories. It was a very ambitious planned community that never quite made it to eventually see its potential. William Hope Harvey was the mastermind behind the development. What is left is also interesting, as part of one of the main hotels sits right on the banks of a lake. Monte Ne is not far from Bentonville, Arkansas, so if you are ever in the area its definitely worth a detour to check it out!
