Shutdown threatens SNAP benefits in Acadiana; Second Harvest Food Bank braces for impact

The ongoing government shutdown is leaving many in Acadiana worried about their next meal. More than 130,000 residents in the region depend on SNAP benefits, which are now threatened by the shutdown. The federal government shutdown that started on October 1 could suspend SNAP benefits starting November 1 if it continues. Paul Scelfo with Second Harvest Food Bank shared his concerns as the organization prepares for increased demand with reduced funding.
