Cargo handler SATS invests S$1m in equipment to handle COVID-19 vaccine supplies

Ground handler SATS has invested $1 million into equipment to transport supplies of COVID-19 vaccines. It said it will take as little as three hours to get vaccines from Changi Airport to medical institutions. The Pfizer vaccine, which has been approved for use in Singapore, is delivered in packaging that can keep the vaccine at -70°C, but storing it in cool conditions can help extend the shelf life. Singapore also hopes to be a hub for the delivery of vaccines to the region. Cargo handlers said if Singapore succeeds in this, it could open more doors.
