Home to Airport, by Helicopter

Join me on my commute from my home to the local airport just minutes away by helicopter. The GoPro is mounted between the rear passenger seats, so you get a clear view of the cockpit instrument panel and the scenery we fly over.

It's a 45 minute drive to the airport from my home, mostly because I have to drive winding roads to get to river level, drive some more to get to a bridge, cross the bridge, and then climb up to airport level on the other side of the river. You see in this video how long it takes to fly there. This was a "commute" because I was flying to the airport to pick up passengers for a tour in the helicopter. Driving there would have been kind of silly because I would have had to leave the helicopter behind.

June 23, 2019 Update: Well, since publishing this a few years ago, it's become a thing. I missed early comments -- honestly, there are too many to read now -- but am reading all the new ones. And I'm listening. You folks seem to like the view and the narration but don't like the single camera angle and lengthy time on the ground before takeoff. I get it.

I'm back to making and publishing videos, now with more camera angles (when I can), better narration, and less time with nothing changing outside the window. I hope you'll check out some of my other videos.

Special note to you doubters who don't think this is real: it is. This one was shot with a GoPro mounted between the two back seats right in front of the firewall between the cockpit and engine compartment. Watch a few more of my videos, some of which have different angles, to see for yourself.
