Queensland LNP withdraws support for state Indigenous treaty laws

Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has backflipped over his support for the state's treaty process.

The Queensland Opposition Leader said he no longer backs legislation that enables separate treaty deals with up to 150 First Nations groups.

Queensland recorded the highest 'No' vote of the referendum, voting the measure down by 68 per cent.

Mr Crisafulli said he fears further division after the Voice debate and doesn't want to "make the same mistake" as the federal government.

He said the LNP would abandon the plan if it wins government.
