The Abyss (1989) Rescue Scene - Remade

Year 3 Music Technology Assignment Part 2:

The chosen clip is taken from the film The Abyss (1989). The original music and sounds had been removed from the entirety of the scene, to be replaced by my own original soundtrack. For this assignment, I composed, orchestrated, mixed and mastered all of the music and sounds heard throughout.

The main challenges of the assignment were in timing the composition to fit precisely with the development of the video, and in vastly manipulating pre-made orchestral instruments in Logic Pro to create realistic sounding instruments.

All editing, programming and composing was carried out using Logic Pro 9, used in conjunction with a Roland SK-500 MIDI Keyboard.
