Have you had trouble applying a new habit into game situations? You can do it in practice, but you can't seem to do it in games?
That is likely because you aren't layering drills enough to actually apply them into a game setting. The difference between how you practice and how you play is too great.
You need to add layers to drills to apply what you are learning in progressively more difficult environments. It's like laying stepping stones so you can walk across the river, rather than trying to jump across.
The first key, you need to define the habit you are working on, and then isolate it. Isolating the habit means simplifying the situation enough so that you can actually hold yourself accountable to doing it right/differently.
Then as you get better at the new skill, you need to layer drills so that you can learn to do it in more difficult and variable situations. You still need to hold yourself accountable to the habit, but you need to give yourself other things to pay attention to.... the kinds of things that happen in games.
If you do well, continue to make the situation more like a game. If you struggle, simplify the situation slightly. Search for the sweet spot - the appropriate level of challenge. Easy enough that you can change the habit, but hard enough that it starts to resemble a game. Keep building over the days and weeks until you are able to apply what you are learning into a true game setting.
This is exactly what I do in my SHOT DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM BUNDLE. All the drills I use to ISOLATE some of the most common shooting issues, plus all the ways that I layer the drills to apply them into games. CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT. https://www.coachdavelove.com/sds-bundle/
