Finca Filadelfia Coffee Farm Antigua, Guatemala .
The Finca Filadelfia Coffee Farm, spanning approximately 800 acres, has been run by four generations of the same family since the 1870s and is a supplier of raw coffee beans to Starbucks (who later roast the beans in Seattle). The volcanic ash naturally found in the soil is ideal for growing coffee plants. When ready to be relocated, the seedlings are picked and replanted by hand at a higher elevation which produces mature beans with more robust flavor. During harvest season, 300 laborers work 6 days/week, 9 hours/day harvesting coffee beans by hand. The farm also has a 20 room hotel that unfortunately has been closed for almost a year due to COVID. #antiguaguatemala🇬🇹 #coffee
