Yes. Jeff Buckley performing the album, "Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk"- live (nearly all of it live anyway). I always wanted this to exist (but it didn't- so I stitched it together). I delicately EQ'd and mastered all of this (from the source material (listed below)) and put it together in order, with some related extras. A gift for JB fans- in particular for those who truly love "Sketches" as it's own album (despite the exquisite but ever-looming shadow of Grace), treasure it, know it like the back of their hands. Here's a solid window into Jeff's process going in to the Verlaine sessions. Testing this material out live. Demo-ing at home.

A few notes: The track, "You & I" is clearly not the same song as the track found on "Sketches" (I don't see why there would be an alternate, early or live version of that track anywhere), but- in lieu of it's absence- a wonderfully, totally different "You & I". The version on "Sketches" DOES in fact share the same refrain (it's subtle but occurs twice in the track), so he was clearly kicking that particular idea around (in various manifestations) for some time. I was shocked to discover a flushed out, developed version of the song that Jeff was only just beginning to point to on the posthumous 2016 album, "You & I". I don't think very many people have heard just where he eventually took that track, but it didn't die with the Abbado sessions. Aside from it's immense beauty, again, it shares the same name (and refrain) as the original 10th track on "Sketches", so on that technicality alone I don't feel too bad about including it in order to bring this project to life.

Included are some early demos ("Opened Once", "Witches' Rave") and a remix of "Opened Once" by Marco Rigamonti that was too lovely to ignore. Also included are live versions of many of the tracks found on the 2nd disc for Sketches. And how about the full-band version of "I Know We Could Be So Happy (If We Wanted To Be)"? Pretty rad.

Made with love. -rw

P.S. Obviously I don't own any of this material (but bottom line- this curation should exist, and here it all is).
