Bracklinn Falls is a breathtaking natural attraction in the scenic hills above Callander in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Known for its dramatic waterfalls and tranquil woodland setting.. The roaring cascades of the Keltie Water plunge into a rocky gorge, offering visitors a stunning display of nature’s power and beauty.

A bridge has existed here since the early 19th century, with a new one installed for Queen Victoria’s 1870 visit. This Victorian bridge was destroyed by flooding in 2004, and a timber replacement was removed in 2021. In 2022, the National Park Authority commissioned a new pedestrian bridge to re-establish the circular trail, which required a 120-year design life and low-cost, low-maintenance construction.

The new replacement bridge opened in early 2023 and is pictured on this page. It is made of 'weathering steel' and quickly developed a distinctive rusty colour to help it blend into the landscape. I have to say I was impressed that it fitted in well and hopefully will last considerably longer than the previous one.

Visitor Tips

• Parking: Use the dedicated car park just outside Callander. It’s a short walk to the falls.

• Footwear: Sturdy shoes are recommended as the paths can be uneven, especially after rain.

• Facilities: There are no facilities at the falls; the nearest amenities are in Callander town.

• Seasonal Advice: Visit during autumn for stunning foliage or after heavy rain to see the falls at their most dramatic.
