Doc Reid: Life Lessons I Learned From "My Mafia Mother"

I realized something several years ago....I don't have a "regular" Mother. I talk to my mother every morning -- and every day is an adventure. No, I'm not a "mama's boy". When I think about it, it really is pretty amazing how connected we are and how much we are alike. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that I met my Mother when I was 27! Mmm hmmm, but beyond that, our daily conversations are filled with her sharing her pearls of wisdom on any given topic: spirituality, politics, finance, relationships and last, but not least, football! It's not likely that she'll be found in the kitchen with an apron on baking cookies. A relaxing Sunday afternoon for her? Watching football for hours followed by a documentary about Navy Seals on the military channel! (What grandma does that?) I told her I think she's a mafia godfather trapped inside a little black woman's body...LOL!

During one of our chats, I realized she was dispensing wisdom that helped me navigate through life's various stages. You have to understand something about my Mom; she is all about strategy. As I applied those strategies to my own life, I began to see my life changing drastically in every area -- for the better! I was so excited about my results so I started sharing them with my friends.
