Justus is a powerhouse in youth mentorship and education, leading Young Brothers Academy—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Greenville, SC—dedicated to the mental, physical, and spiritual growth of middle and high school boys. Justus brings a wealth of experience as a former teacher and school administrator, and his passion for planting seeds of hope shines through in everything his does. As a member of the Call Me MISTER program, he’s committed to diversifying the teaching pool, particularly in underserved schools. His journey has taken him across the globe, including a transformative month in Ghana in 2018 on a Fulbright Hays Scholarship, where he explored the deep ties between Ghanaian and African American history, culture, and language.
A man of faith, family, and community, Justus is the proud husband to Brittney Cox and father to their daughters, Tylar Renee and Ryan Denise. His accolades speak volumes—named one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest 35 and Under in 2024, recipient of the Henrietta Sullivan Mentoring Excellence Award, and honored as a Black History Maker by The Block in 2018, among many others. From earning the Roy Jones Director Award in 2013 to the Upstate Diversity Leadership Award in 2016, Justus continues to break barriers and redefine education from a global perspective.
