Expo West: Orro’s Tabitha Brown and Shaun Neff on Building an Authentic Plant-Based Brand
As the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic passes and people shift back into old habits, Orro is eager to find a place within their consumers’ busy lives. The plant-based “mini-meals” brand, launched in 2021 with backing from beverage incubator L.A. Libations, aims to deliver a nutrient and protein-dense package (16 grams of pea protein, 300 calories per 11 oz. carton) in a convenient format.
In this video, recorded at Natural Products Expo West 2022, Orro founder Shaun Neff and partner Tabatha Brown how the product is being positioned within the beverage market as well as how they believe brands can stand out in the competitive plant-based space. The duo also discussed how Brown’s focus on authenticity marries with Neff’s own business strategy of partnering with influencers and celebrities to create and launch products that resonate with shoppers.
