Model Y Checklist - https://tinyurl.com/y4pd55h3

But do I regret getting my Tesla? Let's go over a few things.

The Bad

Quality Issues
Let’s get this one out of the way. Over the last few months, people have who have been receiving the model Y have had quality control issues. A lot of people are even refusing delivery of them. There is even a Model Y Delivery Checklist.

On my model Y, I have noticed that the trim is very loose, the front trunk lining is very loose, and the panel gaps are very large. Also, the trunk doesn’t close all the way. You have to go over and push it shut 80% of the time.

But I have heard of horror stores of water coming in through a car wash or from it raining. But I feel those are few and far between.

Software Glitches
Multiple times when driving I have had the screen go completely black. I had to hold down the buttons of the steering wheel to reset the screen. I have also had popups get stuck on the screen and make the whole screen unresponsive.

AutoPilot / Full Self Driving
Full Self Driving is not very good on city roads. It will toggle and make you take over. Also, it has scratched my rim by hitting the curb but in Tesla's defense, I was showing it off a very curvey road. However, I have never had a problem with it on the highway.

The Good

FSD
If you are buying a Tesla and not buying FSD you are making a mistake. The FSD takes Tesla to a whole different level. With features such as automatic lane changes, keeping you in the lane, handling turns, recognizing stoplights and stop signs. Yes even stoplights, and stop signs. It can even auto park, parallel or perpendicular park your car, with a single touch. FSD also comes with other cool features like Summon where you can have your car come to you whenever you are.

However, they are increasing the price of the AutoPilot feature. So purchase it now if you want it. But just know that FSD is not 100% done. You can not type in any destination and have it drive you there. But hopefully, it will be done by the end of the year like Elon Musk is saying. But we all know how good his timelines are. Like when he said the Tesla Roadster will be out in 2020.

The technology is amazing
They are so far ahead of the curve it is crazy. A few crazy features are the 3d view of the car. You can easily zoom out and see the vehicles around you. You can also watch movies, play games, etc. Where else can one passenger sing karaoke while another one drives.

Sentry Mode
When enabled, Sentry Mode enters a “Standby” state, like many home alarm systems, which uses the car’s external cameras to detect potential threats. If a minimal threat is detected, such as someone leaning on a car, Sentry Mode switches to an “Alert” state and displays a message on the touchscreen warning that its cameras are recording. If a more severe threat is detected, such as someone breaking a window, Sentry Mode switches to an “Alarm” state, which activates the car alarm, increases the brightness of the center display, and plays music at maximum volume from the car’s audio system.

Dog Mode
Dog mode is a climate control feature that leaves the car's air conditioning or heater on when owners leave their pets in their Tesla.

App
With the app, you control the AC, lock, open trunks, drive it, and so much more.

Over the air updates
With over the air updates coming to the car virtually every other week, it seems they can easily patch bugs, or release new features.

The Storage
With 68 cubic feet of storage, to put it in comparison that is 5 more sqft than the 2020 BMW X3 at only 62.7 ft³ with seat area. And the model 3 only has 15 cubic feet of storage. There is a camping mode for Tesla. This keeps the vehicle at a certain temperature so you can sleep comfortably. People can buy a blow-up mattress and camp in the back of it.

Charging & The Whole Electric Thing
My whole life I have had cars with gas or diesel. I was nervous about having an all-electric vehicle. I had range anxiety and worried that I would never be able to take it on road trips or anything like that. Boy was I wrong. You can easily charge up to 75% within 30 minutes. With more and more Tesla superchargers popping up you can easily make it coast to coast. Also, they put the Tesla Chargers in very convenient locations. However, it can be annoying if you have to rush from place to place.

Also every Tesla comes with a normal 110v home charger that you can easily charge up to 5 miles an hour. Plug it in overnight and that is a lot of people's range for the day. Or you can buy a 220v charger and have an electrician hook it up and it can charge it fully in just a few hours.
