Perennial champions of the Russian Premier League, St. Petersburg’s Sine-Belo-Golubye (The Blue-White-Sky Blues) origins go back to time of the October Revolution. The team had a fantastic season in 2008, winning both the UEFA Cup and Super Cup that year. An old russian folk song thought to have originated in the 17th century serves as the backdrop to the team’s anthem. Immediate evokes the proud Russian heritage in its multi-movement rendition, with arranger Yoav Goren drawing from his deep love of traditional Russian melodies.
