On the 24th of April 2021, Steamrail Victoria operated the 'Eureka Express' from Melbourne to Ballarat and return.
The tour was hauled by steam locomotives R711 and A² 986 and headed from Melbourne to Ballarat via Bacchus Marsh. The trip was originally planned to return the same way however due to operational reasons, the train had to run via North Geelong.
