Using Facemasks (vid #203)
Hi Everyone. Facemasks took on a whole new level of importance when I started spraying in the workshop, and in this video I discuss the ones I use, and the one I recommend going forwards. Enjoy!
Note that the Trend Air Stealth mask comes with P3 dust filters as standard, and whilst these give a high level of protection for woodworking they are not intended for use when spraying. The Trend ‘Organic filter set’ offers a higher APF20 level of filtration which I understand is suitable for use in water-based mists e.g. spraying water-based paints. If you are working in gases and vapours e.g. spraying solvent-based paints, you will need a higher level of RPE protection e.g. ABE1P3 that the 3M 4277 mask offers.
If you have any doubt about the suitability of of RPE for the task at hand, please visit www.hse.gov.uk for more information.
