Prayer is communion with God. This act of devotion has always been inherent to religious life. Through them, individuals and communities continually reinforce the unique bond that exists between God and humanity and vitalizes the relationships that sustain society. Prayer is essential for our spiritual sustenance and growth. It's like food for our soul. it deepens the love of God in our hearts and draws us closer to Him. 

Prayer in its highest form is a pure expression of loving praise for God. In moments of private prayer, of course, we often use our own words to commune with our Creator. But in the Baha’i Writings of the Bab, Baha’u’llah, and Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’is find numerous prayers so sufficient in eloquently depicting what's in our hearts—and is commonly used in personal devotions and at their gatherings. Most Bahai gatherings typically begin and end with prayer.
