hello, I may never ever ever recover from this

listen, I was so on board with the show when it was announced, what I was not expecting was the phenomenal queer rep, and THIS LOVE STORY??? I am obsessed.

I started making this after episode 8, so it's very character-focused for a while bc I didn't know where the show was going, so if there are elements missing, it's bc they didn't fit. Plenty of plans for more videos though.

I love love love them. Two men, feeling trapped and lonely in their lives, in the expectations placed upon them that they feel they can never meet, don't want to meet. They feel like they're treading water, drowning, no hope. And then they meet and become everything they ever wanted to be with the other person??? Like how am I supposed to get over a story like this.

I know a lot of people are unhappy with how s1 ended but I adored it. Stede needed to confront his past - that idea of "Wherever You Go, There You Are" means that even if he and Ed abscond to China, he will never be able to move past the guilt of leaving his family. He can't keep running, he needs closure and to make amends. And god, what a gorgeous episode it was to watch him do that. AND CAN WE HAVE A SHOUT OUT FOR THE GLORIOUS MARY BONNET?? I'm so glad she had such a strong role in the finale, I'm so glad she managed to find happiness too. Anyway, Stede is now all the better for what he's done, and he's ready to be with Ed and begin their new life. It is just so heartbreaking that Ed doesn't know this and has let himself be crushed and manipulated by Izzy, reverting back to the monster everyone always said he was. Ugh, my heart.

This show better get renewed bc that finale was amazing, and I am so excited to see how this storyline resolves and how these characters develop.
