PlayStation Studios Acquires Housemarque and Bluepoint Games? Returnal & Demon’s Souls PS5 Devs

Sony Interactive Entertainment finally broke out the checkbook and tied the knot on two(?) developers they’ve worked with for a very long time. Well, at least for one of them right now. The company confirmed this morning they’ve acquired developer Housemarque, and they may have mistakenly leaked out an acquisition of Bluepoint Games. Either way, let’s unpack this and talk about what it means for both Sony and the developers. And what does this mean for me? When will I be acquired? Honestly I’m game for hostile takeovers.
