Repairing A Lathe Tool Rest

Rob shows you how to repair/maintain your tool rest for smooth turning. The force of the spinning workpiece occasionally grabbing the lathe chisel causes nicks in the rest. Left like this makes for less than smooth turning as the chisel bumps along the rest. It’s an easy fix.
