On Veteran's Day I took my iPhone 7 Plus and my new DJI Osmo Mobile to downtown Portland, Oregon.

I took a walk through the city and did a bit of filming. Fortunately, the post-election riots weren't happening during the morning so there wasn't a lot of action. I suppose filming the riots might have gotten me some intense footage, but that wasn't what I was after.

I really wanted to see what the iPhone 7 Plus with the DJI Osmo Mobile was capable of.

I shot this entire video in 4K resolution, at 30fps, using an app called Filmic Pro. The entire video was shot using the iPhone 7 Plus's 2x lens. You can choose which lens to use if you're using a third-party app like Filmic Pro. I edited the video in Premiere Pro CC and added some slight color correcting.

So, I didn't get the wide angle look, but I also didn't get the juddering that's such an issue with the iPhone 7 (and iPhone 7 Plus) when used in conjunction with the DJI Osmo Mobile gimbal.

Obviously I'm not always looking for the happy-go-lucky feeling that one might get when visiting Portland. Sometimes life in the city is a bit grungy and I wanted to capture that as well.
