Castrovido Dam (Spain)

FCC Construcción has developed numerous hydraulic works both domestically and internationally. The company is currently operating the Castrovido Dam, which is a major feat construction and engineering. The main purpose of the dam is to help regulate the Arlanza River. It has achieved this by creating a reservoir with a storage capacity of 44 cubic hectometres and an area of 214 hectares, which is equivalent to 212 medium-sized football fields. The infrastructure consists of the main dam, a hydroelectric power station and a tail dam as well as the construction of the road variants affected by this work.
