Newton Food Centre | Delicious Hokkien Mee, BBQ Delights, Durian Mousse Sultan King ! | Hawker Eats

Today, we are having an early dinner at Newton Food Centre.
Opened in 1971, it was the first hawker centre built without a wet market, and houses 83 cooked food stalls. Newton Food Centre was also the first hawker centre designed and built with a garden setting that complemented SG's "garden city" image.
In its early days, this hawker centre was promoted by the Singapore Tourism Board as a destination to sample Singaporean cuisine. Till this day, this hawker centre remains very popular with both tourists and locals for its variety of local food.
Having recently undergone an upgrading exercise from Nov 2022 to Feb 2023, this hawker centre is now better than ever with new fans, painting and lighting etc.
As for its location, Newton Food Centre is very conveniently located neat the Newton MRT. Hence, it is very accessible to get here easily.

Here's what we tried:

1. Newton Old Signboard 25 - Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle ($6).
2. TKR Yummy Chicken Wing & Satay - 1 Otah ($1.60), 5 Pork and 5 Chicken Satay ($9) and 3 Chicken Wings ($4.80).
3. Tiong Bahru Durian - Durian Mousse Sultan King (Single Scoop, $5).
4. Summer Day Stall 63 - Logan Blueberry Drink ($3).
